Victorian Solo Drumming Championships 2018
The Victorian Solo Drumming Championships will take place at Scotch College, 1 Morrison Street, Hawthorn on Sunday 5 August 2018. Registrations will be taken from 12:15pm, and the contest will commence at 1:00pm.

The contest entry form is attached, and entries close on Friday 27 July. All entries are to be emailed and received by this date, and no late entries will be accepted.
Playing requirements as listed on the Pipe Bands Victoria Solo Drumming website, solodrumming.info are as follows:
Beginner: Played on a practice pad.
Must be accompanied by a piper on a practice chanter. Competitor must have learnt snare drum for 12 months or less prior to September 2017. (September 2016 to September 2017). They will stay in this section for one solo season only.
Beginner: Snare
2 Parts of Own choice March style music. Must start with introduction rolls.
Novice: Snare (Learner)
Element 1: 4 Parts of Simple Time March. (Can play 2 x 2 parts)
Element 2: 4 Parts of Compound Time March. (Can play 2 x 2 parts)
D Grade: Snare, Tenor & Bass (Elementary)
Element 1: March, Strathspey & Reel, 4 Parts of 2/4 March (Can play 2 x 2 parts) into 2 parts each of Strathspey & Reel.
Element 2: 2 Parts of Hornpipe into 2 Parts of Jig.
C Grade: Snare (Sub-Intermediate)
Element 1 March, Strathspey & Reel: 4 parts of 2/4 March into 2 or more parts each of Strathspey & Reel
Element 2 2 or more parts of Hornpipe and Jig.
B Grade: Snare, Tenor & Bass (Intermediate)
Element 1 March, Strathspey & Reel, each of 4 parts or more. (Traditional Style)
Element 2 4 Parts of Hornpipe into 4 Parts of Jig.
A Grade: Snare, Tenor & Bass (Open)
Element 1 March, Strathspey & Reel, each of 4 parts or more (Traditional Style).
Element 2 Hornpipe & Jig, each of 4 parts or more.
• All competitors are to commence their performance with two three paced rolls.
• All Competitors will play both elements as listed at each contest.
