Vale Michael Stubbings
Michael Stubbings, a life long contributor to pipe bands, drumming, and piping passed away on Friday 23 February after a prolonged period of illness.
Michael was a drummer with several bands, but notably City of Blacktown and St Mary’s Band Club in Sydney, as well as a PBA Councillor and Committee Member, adjudicator and for many years, Chairman of P BA NSW.
In recent years following his retirement, Michael and his wife Robyn made their home in Melbourne and continued their interest in Pipe bands and the activities of Pipe Bands Victoria.
Pipe Bands Victoria extends deepest condolences to Robyn and Michael’s family, and express our thanks for his contribution to our movement.
I also extend my personal condolences to Robyn and family. I knew Michael for many years and he was a gentleman with the interests of piping and drumming at heart, and he was a sincere and significant contributor to pipe bands in Australia.
Further information about Michael is available from the Pipe Bands Australia website.
