Barry Stewart wins 2015 Sir Rupert Hamer Award

Barry Stewart, a long time member of the Victoria Scottish Pipe Band (formerly Williamstown RSL and Footscray City Pipe Band) was announced as the winner of the 2015 Sir Rupert Hamer Award for services to pipe bands in Victoria. The attached photo is of Barry receiving the Award from Chieftain, The Hon. Ted Baillieu at the conclusion of the Ringwood Highland Gathering.

Barry has made a lifetime contribution to his band and has held many positions with the band throughout his career, and has been active in maintaining the presence of the band in its local area as well as being an integral part of the band during the 1980s to the early 2000s when it was a competing force to be reckoned with.

Congratulations Barry on receiving the Award, one of the highest honours bestowed upon members of Pipe Bands Victoria.
